Life Update – We Are Moving!!

Ahhh I cannot tell you guys how excited we are about this next adventure in our lives! When we first moved from St. Louis to Wyoming almost 3 years ago we knew it was temporary but we were just excited to be closer to both of our families and Wyoming was kind of the middle ground between them. And if I’m going to be really honest I was not that excited at all to move to Wyoming based off what I knew about Casper at the time anyways but like I said it was closer to family so I was up for it. Robert had committed 2 years here in Wyoming to his company to help restructure the territory and then we knew after the two years were up we were going to look at moving but we truly didn’t know where. Well.. over the past two years we have fallen in love with two places and we have prayed about them both and trusted God to open doors where he wanted us to be. Two years ago at Christmas Robert surprised me with a weekend getaway to Park City, Utah. We both are mountain obsessed and if you’ve ever been to Utah, especially Park City you can understand why I had heart eyes all weekend. Everything about that trip was perfect, jaw dropping Rocky Mountains, Christmas lights on every single tree, cutest cabin hotel snuggled between evergreens covered in snow, it was Kyden’s first time in the Rockies, the amazing food, but it was also so special as it’s where I took a pregnancy test and we found out we were expecting our second child!!!! Robert video taped Kyden’s reaction in the hotel when we told him he was going to be a big brother and he cried haha I don’t think he understood but it made us laugh… and he just cried! Clearly his reaction to his baby brother is different today and most of the time he is infatuated with Jettler… well… until he steals one of his toys or his puppy! ; ) The other place we fell in love with was Banff, Canada. I posted a few blog posts from our trip when we went there back in September and you’ll see why it’s  one of our top two! ( I’ll link them here, here, here) We have actually been talking about moving to Canada for over 5 years now.  In fact it’s always been our number one destination to move to. With immigration though it definitely makes the move a lot more complicated and time-consuming but it would mean the world to me to live near my family. In an ideal world we would love to live within an hour of family and have beautiful mountains in our backyard. One can dream right?! But the two places we fell in love with unfortunately don’t offer us being to close to our families… which still is hard for me to even think about. I’ve lived most of the last 10 years away from mine and it has never gotten easier and now with our two little ones it’s even harder to be away. I’m very close to my parents, we talk every single day and they are the two most amazing humans that ever existed (but for real)  and are also the most incredible grandparents that pour love onto our kiddos nonstop and have never let the any distance stop them from having a close relationship with them. They are truly the best!

Anyways Robert got a call about two weeks ago from a company that wanted to fly him out to interview for an opening. Well all I can say is when God works… he works because everything fell into place. Robert received a job offer immediately for an incredible company, our lease just so happened to be up this month, financially it has been amazing, we found a place to live as we only had two weeks to find one (how stressful that could have been) and the company is located in one of our top two places we’d love to live….. we are officially moving to Salt Lake City, Utah!!!! So proud of my hubby and grateful he works his hot hiney off for us!

So if you follow me on Instagram and have been wondering why I’ve been a bit MIA this past week it’s because I’m packing…. we currently live in a box maze and piles upon piles of way too much stuff! (whyyyyy so much stuff? I’ve literally wondered if I’ve become a gross hoarder a few times this week… feels so nice to declutter doesn’t it?) FYI Packing with two kids 2 and under…. not a party… more like a stress fest but I try my best to make it fun. Kyden loves to pop all the bubble wrap and jump on it (great.. I’m sure we will have a few broken glasses because there was no cushion left in the bubble wrap to protect them but whatever) and I put Jett in a box with toys and he thinks it’s the best thing invented… it entertains them for about a good 10 mins giving me enough time to only pack one box! Turtles move faster than our packing. Robert has been the sweetest though telling me I’m doing such a great job of packing… I snagged a gooder! Reality is that I’ve let Kyden color our windows with crayons, use chalk on our floor and eat way too many chocolates and snacks  just so I could get a few more minutes of packing done! I’ll be relaxed when the moving truck shows up and my job is done.

However as excited as we are to move to Utah and the new adventures we will have there, it’s a bitter-sweet move for us. Casper has really grown on us a lot and we have made some incredible life long friendships here with couples that have embraced us right from the start. I remember being 8 months pregnant in St.Louis calling to try a find a OBGYN in Casper Wyoming that would take me as their patient. I lucked out with the best doctor who has become a dear friend. Not only did she deliver both of our children, her husband who is also a doctor has been our boys pediatrician since they were born. I mean how cool is that? They let us be those annoying patients that text them stupid health questions at  anytime of the day and have been such a blessing in our lives these past few years. Another couple we re going to miss crazy are possibly two of the most selfless people we’ve ever met. I remember sitting in the indoor soccer arena when Kyden was maybe two months old  (which lets be honest the soccer arena here is actually the agriculture building –  Robert joined a random soccer team and they played soccer on dirt sprayed with white lines…  yes, it smelt like manure : ) Anyways I remember this girl walking over to me holding her baby boy and immediately welcomed me and her husband played on Roberts team. Her and her husband have been nothing but amazing and have helped us gain abs just by laughing way too hard.  She watched Kyden for us when I went into labor with Jett – My water broke at 10:45 at night and Robert texted her shortly after, she was at our place ready to watch Kyden for us within 5 minutes so we could go to the hospital! I was tempted to name Jett after her because she was such an angel!  Kyden and their oldest boy are little buddies and they just had a new baby boy a few weeks ago so I’m excited to see Jett and him be buds also! They have been there for us through everything and have not only supported but have promoted our businesses here in Casper! We have met so many other couples here that mean a lot to us and we are just so grateful for all the friendships we were lucky enough to make! Casper has really grown on us and I’m so glad we moved here when we did.
